January 15Happy New Year!

New Year is a special time for Japanese Flower Artists. Using pine, Chrysanthemum, lilies, red berries, as well as gold painted bamboo, we will create arrangements which celebrate our wishes for happiness, peace and a prosperous 2023. Special paper strings called “Mizuhiki” in gold, silver or other metallic colors are tied in graceful curves and added for festive feelings.

February 19Using Flowering Branches

Classical Japanese Ikebana prizes the flowering branches of early spring. One has only to look at an old scroll or painting to see the graceful arrangement of flowering Quince or fruiting trees. Various methods for fixing the branches will be highlighted in this class.
